More Rain for the Panhandle

Showers and thunderstorms will continue near the Gulf Coast today ahead of a cold front that is moving southward through the region; locally heavy rain is possible on top of the heavy rain that has already fallen since last evening.

Along the Southeast Atlantic Coast ahead of the front, mild temperatures are expected today, with near-record highs possible over the Florida Peninsula.

Cooler, and more seasonal, temperatures are expected tomorrow along the Southeast Coast and into Florida.

A new system will begin to develop in the northwestern Gulf of Mexico tomorrow into Thursday that will bring a chance of rain to the Gulf and Southeast Coasts through the end of the week.

The weekend should be chilly with a chance of rain and snow in Virginia and North Carolina by Sunday.

Highs today will range from the 30s in northern Oklahoma and northwestern Arkansas to the mid 80s in South and Central Florida.
