Severe Storms Threaten Miami, Tampa, Orlando

A storm system passing over Florida and pressing up the East Coast today will spark strong thunderstorms.

Cooler air following the system will crash into the warm, muggy air currently in place over the Sunshine State.

The resulting storms will pound the area with flooding downpours and damaging winds, with even a tornado possible, in the strongest of storms.

Over an inch of rain will fall in spots, while wind gusts could howl past 60 mph at times.
