Nice Autumn Weather for Southeast

Following yesterday's soaking rain across the Southeast, much of the area will have a very comfortable autumn day Wednesday.

Parts of Georgia and Alabama received over 2 inches of rain on Tuesday, and no sunshine whatsoever.

Wednesday will be quite an improvement, as morning clouds and fog will break for plenty of sunshine in the afternoon.

In addition to the dry weather and returning sunshine, humidity levels will be much lower. A ridge of high pressure settling over the Southeast will allow dry air to move in from the northwest. Nearly ideal conditions are expected this afternoon, with high temperatures mostly in the 70s across the lower Mississippi Valley and into the low 80s across the eastern Carolinas and much of Georgia.
