Tornado Watch
The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a Tornado Watch Effective this Tuesday morning and evening from 9:10AM until 6:00PM EDT. for portions of the Florida Panhandle and southwest Georgia.
Florida counties included are:
Bay Calhoun Dixie Franklin Gadsden Gulf Holmes Jackson Jefferson Lafayette Leon Liberty Madison Okaloosa Santa Rosa Taylor Wakulla Walton Washington
Tornadoes... hail to 0.5 inch in diameter... thunderstorm wind gusts to 70 mph... and dangerous lightning are possible in these areas.
The Tornado Watch area is approximately along and 105 statute miles east and west of a line from 45 miles east northeast of Marianna Florida to 35 miles west of Apalachicola Florida.
Remember... a Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings.
