Danny Threatens the Eastern Seaboard

Tropical Storm Danny has strengthened overnight, with sustained winds reaching 60 mph. By the time Danny nears the coast early Saturday, the storm may have reached hurricane strength.

Depending on the track Danny takes, there may be flooding all the way from eastern Virginia through eastern Maine. Rough surf and rip currents will affect beachgoers as early as this afternoon, and dangerous surfing, swimming and bathing conditions will persist through Saturday
