Thunderstorms continue, with heaviest rain expected in east Broward
This rain just won't go away -- and neither will the lightning and flooding expected to accompany it, according to the National Weather Service in Miami.
Slow-moving thunderstorms with 60 mph wind gusts should be rolling through Broward County until this evening, with heavier downpours expected along the east coast, according to a weather service advisory released this morning.
Cities with low-lying areas are expected to see some flooding, according to the weather service. The storms might also bring frequent lightning and nickel-sized hail.
Forecasters believe a weak and short lived tornado may form near the coast this evening, though the chances are slim.
