Hard freeze conditions will range from up to 4 to 6 hours well inland to 2 to 4 hours elsewhere.
For Northeast Florida

Temperatures dropping to near 20 in inland areas and into the mid 20s in locations close to the river and beaches. Durations of 6 to 10 hours below freezing temperatures are expected inland with 4 to 6 hours below freezing along the river and beaches. It is possible that some of the normally colder open rural locations could briefly drop into the upper teens. Durations of 9 to 12 hours of below freezing temperatures are possible.

For West Central Florida

Temperatures are expected to fall below freezing around midnight and remain below freezing until mid morning Thursday. Temperatures will bottom out in the lower to mid 20s around sunrise with durations of 3 to 5 hours below 27 degrees likely across inland areas. Durations of 4 to 7 hours below 27 degrees are likely across much of Levy and Citrus counties.

For East Central Florida

Lows are expected to fall to the mid 20s over traditionally colder locations of lake county. Temperatures may remain below 27 degrees for 3 or more hours. Wind chill values will fall to between 20 and 25 degrees overnight with briefly lower values possible over the interior north of Okeechobee county.

For South Florida

Temperatures late tonight into early Thursday morning will fall to between 25 and 32 degrees coldest over western Hendry and western Glades counties. At this time any temperatures of 28 degrees or colder are expected to persist for two to three hours with temperatures of 32 degrees or colder persisting for four to seven hours.

A Hard Freeze Warning means that temperatures less than 27 degrees are expected for at least 2 hours. to prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes...pipes should be wrapped...drained...or allowed to drip slowly. those that have in- ground sprinkler systems should drain their systems...or cover any above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.

A Freeze Warning is issued for 3 or more hours of temperatures between 27 and 32 over a widespread area.

A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds will combine to generate low wind chills. this will result in frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken. If you must venture outdoors...make sure you wear a hat and gloves.
