Severe Weather Threat This Wednesday

As the former Southwest storm heads for eastern Kansas Tuesday, scattered severe thunderstorms will develop across Arkansas, Louisiana and southeast Texas - as the showery rain expands eastward as far as the southern Appalachians, Georgia and Florida by evening.

Highs will be below average under the rain in Mississippi and Alabama but near or above average in most of the rest of the South.

Afternoon temperatures will range from upper 50s in the Tennessee Valley to low 70s in parts of the Carolinas, southern Georgia and Florida and the 70s to near 80 in most of Texas.

On Wednesday, a new vigorous storm moves out into the southern Plains.

The high Plains will again deal with strong westerly winds.
