Southerners Shiver as Cold Winds Blow

The rain has come and gone in the Southeast from the same storm that pounded the Midwest Tuesday and continues to lash the mid-Atlantic today.

However, some facets of the storm will still impact the region.

Brisk winds will usher chilly air southward across the eastern half of the nation today. Gusts will howl past 35 mph at times from the Carolinas to northern Florida.

Meanwhile, large waves generated by the blizzard in the Northeast will cause rough surf along the north-facing islands in the Bahamas and Caribbean as the week comes to a close.
