More Rain in the South

A strong storm system will cross the Florida panhandle today spreading heavy rains into the southeastern quarter of United States today.

Rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches will be common over much of Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina by the time the rain tapers off.

This much rain on top of already saturated grounds will lead to increased flooding concerns along and near the region's rivers and streams.

Further south, a strong frontal boundary will sweep eastward across the Florida Peninsula this afternoon bringing with it a line of strong to perhaps severe thunderstorms this afternoon.
