Soggy in the Southeast

Drenching showers and thunderstorms will erupt along the Gulf Coast Monday as a storm system skirts by.

While most of the showers and storms will be spotty, a few could still produce flooding downpours.

Steady rain will also overspread northern Georgia into the Carolinas. As much as 2 inches of rain will inundate parts of the immediate Gulf Coast, eastern Alabama and northern Georgia through Monday night.

Damp weather will persist on the Southeast Coast Tuesday as the system sweeps northward up the East Coast. Meanwhile, another storm system will advance toward the region, bringing showers and thunderstorms to the lower Mississippi Valley by the afternoon.
