Drenching Downpours for South Florida

Some of the thunderstorms will unleash torrential downpours. Short-term flooding problems could result, especially in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

Thunderstorms that develop on the fringe of this system, over the central Gulf of Mexico coast, will tend to be spotty.

However, a few of these storms can also be locally heavy.

A stalled front over central and South Florida will be another trouble spot in the form of drenching thunderstorms.

A weak tropical system could even form in this area and then drift off the southern Atlantic coast over the weekend.
