Storms Drenching Sunshine State

More locally heavy storms will soak the Florida Peninsula and portions of southern Georgia and coastal South Carolina today. Locally damaging winds could also blow in a few of the storms. A stalled front and plenty of humid air will work together to trigger the storms, which will become more widespread during the afternoon and evening hours.

Over the weekend, storms are expected to become less numerous across the Deep South as the front across the area dissipates. This will be welcome by Southerners who have been dealing with stormy weather for the past several days.
