Flood Watch Update

The Suwannee did not rise overnight in Branford, but is still expected to crest on Friday at 33.4 feet. At 6 a.m. Thursday the Suwannee stood at 32.73 feet.

Here's what's happening at other critical points on the rivers:

STATENVILLE (Ga.) The Alapaha crested at 31.52 feet, eclipsing the all-time record of 29.8 feet recorded in April 1948. At 5:45 a.m. Thursday the river stood at 26.56 feet, still well over flood stage of 24 feet. Responsible for much of the severe flooding in Hamilton County.

PINETTA (Madison County) The Withlacoochee River crested at 88.51 feet, eclipsing the all-time record of 85.85 feet recorded in April 1948. At 5 a.m. Thursday the river stood at 70.53 feet. Responsible for much of the severe flooding in Madison and Hamilton counties.
